Hello! I’m Cloé.

Doula

I’m a mother of 3. I gave birth once by c-section, twice at home. In my flesh I’ve experienced three times pregnancy and the Hungarian prenatal care system. I was in contact with unhealthy practices and outdated knowledge but I also felt the encouragement and trust from heroic birth supporters. In this adventure it happened to me to feel insecure, abandoned and vulnerable but also supported, taken care, strengthened. I had to learn to heal my wounds, to build my tribe, to take care of myself.

The presence of my doula completely changed my experience of pregnancy and birth. Giving birth was fun! Although I believed myself to be informed and conscientiously prepared, my doula was my sherpa in my way to a new motherhood, escorting me, carrying my back-pack and helping me to sort out the stuff in it. My doula was a skilled resource person, bringing information or any kind of support was needed.
I’m a doula because I want to be for other women what my doula was for me, to help improving the physical and emotional well-being of mothers-to-be.

Eventually, I want not only women, but also men, babies, children, to be accompanied according to their needs in each important stage of their life. Being a doula is the way I found to make a better world.

It takes a village to raise a child, says the African proverb. We don’t have villages as a support system anymore, but we still do have children. It’s now our own task to conscientiously build the networks that will relief us in this delicate period. I am part of your tribe, and I’m part of your birth support team.

Being a doula is my passion, my time-consuming hobby; it’s a particular way of life. Since my first pregnancy in 2012 I am thirsty for any information related to birth, I really enjoy reading professional articles, I became a birth geek. I found a community of other birth-passionate people, here and all over the world. There is so much to know, it’s such an exciting period of life, and 9 months is never enough to get prepared for everything. I’d like to share with you my enthusiasm and guide your navigation in the sea of information.

Positive birth experience = empowered women → happy baby → fulfilled family = more love and peace.
